Spacious place, large and magnificent building. environment is maintained, Cleanliness needs to be improved. The toilet is not clean and smell urine. Planetarium building is no longer suitable for learning. The building needs renovation, the simulation room and contents of the explanation need to be corrected because of many mistakes. The Directions are in all locations need to be improved. Friendly staff.
Its a great place for our kids and they are under going renovation at the moment, hopefully soon they even better facility for people
Went to Jakarta Library, it was awesome. But we didn't find any restaurant inside the complex.
This place woyld never be the same again as its has always been for several decades. 😢😢😢 Such a sad stories of unknowningly person who made this change possible... Nothing last forever
Been here for the first time to watch a choir concert. This place is perfect for art and culture enthusiast, as it is known. There's theaters, a planetarium, and the park. Used to have a cinema too, but it is closed now by the government. The facilities are good enough, there's a mosque to pray also. Overall one of the best place to spend the time with your family or close friends.
The place is suitable for art, literature, poem, theater lover. We could find the big theaters in this area, yet the open space that usually used for poem reading, music event, literature events, etc. For muslim, there is a mosque inside the area. There is Planetarium theater also, a great deal for kids and space goers. There is a little old-indie-book shop inside the area.
You can find art, culture and knowledge in this place... Nice scenery for students to get to know with the beauty of Jakarta street culture...
Historical sites. Used to be private zoo owned by a famous painter Raden Saleh. Then in 1970, it changed into Cultural space for artists, writers. In 2019 until 2023, there is a revitalization project around the complex. Some buildings can be access, but others not.
Good place to have an art exhibition or a concert. But they need to renovate the place.
Nice and cozy. Although the women's toilets could be better.
A nice place. There is a fancy bioskop
Old but gold. National park with Planetarium show in the day and Local culinary in the night.
i love to be there, you can be an astronaut for a while:)
There are so many art events held in here...so it`s a nice place to satisfy your cravings for some theatre, drama, choir concert, and event some musical drama
This place is currently under maintenance and some parts are under construction. I went there at night. And it feels much more at ease. I visited Jose Rizal's bookstore. There are vast collection of old books. If you are lucky, you can get some (book) treasures. Bang Jose usually sits in front of the bookstores while reading poems. You can also meet Bang Charlie who take care of the store.
Its the hype of the city where young artists hang out for new ideas and collaborate for events. 1 big theatre and 1 medium theatre are regularly crowded with exciting events such as play, concerts, exhibition and bienalle. A must visit with enough parking lot and reachable from train station.
Nice place where artist used to gather and perform, but I just learned that at the moment they're still undergoing some renovation in some building there.
It is a park for people to enjoy night time and the weekend time. It is so crowded with people in certain time like in the festive time. The place is very artistic architecture. The hero theme movie is often played here. The historical place to memorize the hero.
Went there last week. They are about to renovate the place starting the end of this year (2019). Hopefully gonna bring back its great historical vibe
This is one of my fav place to learn, starting from cultures (conference here and there) until aerospace. they have a planetarium here, which you can watch a "show" about our solar system, planets etc. such a shame tho that the planetarium isn't as famous as how they used to.
A good places located in central Jakarta, you can enjoy a view of our astronomy from Planetarium (in Taman Ismail Marzuki), this photo was taken from Planetarium at 7 pm. You can also look for a moon with astronomy telescope and it's free.
It's an area with some interesting places inside, such as theatre, museum, planetarium, and etc. Many youth come to this place for practicing some art like traditional dancing, modern dancing, broadway, pantomim, even parkour.
loving the experience here. you can watch movies, not only mainstream but also indie & festival movies. also the theatre often having great events. still want to try the planetarium tho
A great looking and spacious cultural and art center, love it. Unfortunately there's literally no protection against the rain there.
Somehow you can feel the old city vibes in these area, with the street foods. It is in the middle of city but doesn't offer some extra urban atmosphere. It is supposed to be a cultural and literary center in the city. But they do some renovating and changes now. Like Kineruku and the book seller there are nowhere/ not sure to be found in the future.
I watched dance stage here. traditional dance performed by Indonesia Student to conserve Indonesian dance. Big theatrical room. It can fit many people. Located in the center of Jakarta City. Close to Commuter line Station.
The building was designed by famous architect, Raul Renanda. Sadly the building looks detached and gigantic, strange and weird, and tacky. Too much concrete coverage, almost no trees or any kind of greens. It makes the surrounding heated like in an oven in the midday. Strange place. Unlike old IKJ we used to know.
Planetarium at Taman Ismail Marzuki is an amazing place. They saying, science is fun, it means hereHowever this place exist since 30 years ago or older. It needs proper maintenance, need greater system and better management,
It was a lovely scientific park to visit with my old fashioned Dahon DaBike. The place ia well maintained Clean, and tidy. The people are very nice. I will be back next week as my home is very near to the TIM.
Some of the theater building was old, but always clean. The location is easy to recognize, and they're under construction now for some spots.
Beautiful building, remind me of The Opera House Sydney. Spacious outdoor space. Lot of cats!
A heritage place, a place for people to express their artful side. From theater, drama, musical, dance, others... all have been performed here
Taman Ismail Marzuki is an arts and cultural place near Planetarium Jakarta. Totally reachable and easy to find. A wide and fancy to hangout. Great ambience and good view. This is place is beautifully decorated with an artistic painting. This is the right placr fir who you are wanna enjoy movies, theater, performance arts, music, painting exhibition.Having facilities: spacious parking area, another public services facilities such as toilet, mosque, atm, mini theater, library, etc.
It has planetarium, the place where you can observe our outer space objects, even you can watch several nice documenter films that show journey of the outer space ever undertaken. That's it. I do not want to comment other places because I am not interested in them.
One of must visit places in Jakarta!! I just came into its new performing art studio called Teater Jakarta and was amazed with the architecture. It was huge, sophisticated, and cozy. Theater’s seats were comfy and bathrooms were clean. It also has escalators and elevators that accessible for elderly and disabled. When you walked around the area, you may find bookstore and historical Planetarium. There are also bus and train station near the location, easy to reach if you would like to come by public transportation.
fun experience. learn something bout the constellation. now need to visit an hour before the show, buy tix and pay with jakcard
It's brand new, maintained pretty well, clean and neat. I admitted that this National Library was designed in a pretty high tech standard. The one i really love about is the Performing Studio on 2nd floor that well designed, room acoustic was pretty good and the stage placed well so everybody can see performers very well.
Visiting planetarium and books gallery, unluckily there is a TIM revitalization project.
This place so big, you can take pictures with all paintings at the wall.. So pretty
Nice place but became commercial area now.
Gem in the midst of concrete jungle of Jakarta. Nice soothing place to hang around in the late afternoon while waiting for the musical concert to perform. TIM Theatre was charmingly old and beautiful. It felt like you were taken back to the 70s but at the same time had a modern acoustics and staging. It was my first time here and definitely would come back for more shows to come
The place is huge and spacious. They also have the public library here. There is also Instute of Art Jakarta campus here. A planetarium and there used to be a movie theatre but they renovate it recently because the building is very old. At the front gate there are many food hawker selling many various kinds of food. Better you ask for the price first before ordering.
Used to be a wonderful place because of Planetarium. Now it's so so
Kristinus Beoang & Family
The new building had big and super comfy theatre, a small bookstore (for you nostalgic nerds) located near the main theatre. Lots of parking and easy to reach, located near train station and a small shopping venue called Menteng Huis. the overall ambiance is calm and serene. The downsides are, it used to have small cafes in the outer part of the area, but they are renovating parts of it, so you might have to look elsewhere for food.in conclusion, great place for art enthusiasts, I suggest you follow their social media account and visit when they have art show or the like.
I visited the Planetarium Jakarta at this location. The Planetarium is quite good and clean with many toilets. I always amazed with the star show here but the payment should use Jakcard. And maximum ticket for 4 persons and if you want to watch the show on Sunday morning even though it will begin at 9.30, you should come early at 8 to get the ticket. This place is so popular.
I think this is one of the historical building in Indonesia. They have many art classes, planetarium, and libraries. They also have a movie theater, the old one and the new one. You're going to love it here. I used to accompany my father's friend here, he was a pretty famous writer and reporter. And at night there are a lot of food stands in front of the gate.
Good place for hanging out with friends. There are art space, books shop, museum, hall and good ambience outdoor with some trees. Above 9pm, staff would be locked some toilets so its kinda hard to find em. You can run to the mosque to just pee.
The big theater has great facilities. It has the capacity of 1200 people. The bathrooms on every level are clean. There are dressing rooms, VIP room and spacious foyer. The seats are comfy and not too narrow. But the acoustic under the balcony isn't really good, kinda dampen the sound from the stage. The best acoustic of the theatre is at the third level.
Well great spot for wandering, seeing any art show
